Kindergarten. Wow. Where does time go?
kindergarten letter to my son.
I do not even know where to begin. Today is your first day of kindergarten. You have grown into such a handsome, smart little man. I am more proud of you than you could ever imagine. Everyone always says that time flies, but I have yet to ever realize exactly what they meant. Until now. It really seems like yesterday I was holding you in my arms (well it actually was yesterday, but you know what I mean, ha) and you were my baby. You're definitely not a baby anymore, and the past few weeks you have shown that summing it all up with the start of your first day of school! You turned 5 in April, and you have just excelled beyond belief. Let's see... Within the course of a couple weeks you rode your bike without training wheels, you learned to blow bubbles with bubblegum, you can swim across the pool, count to 30, write numbers, draw with lots of details, and the list continues. It blows my mind how everything just came out of nowhere.
It doesn't stop here.
I believe now what everyone says. I am terrified to blink because I know "tomorrow" you will be driving. I'll turn my head for a second and you will be going off to college. Then babies of your own.... Ok now I am going to far, after all it is still just kindergarten. But it won't be long.
If mommy can give you any advice - Be kind. Always be yourself. Make friends, but make good quality friends. It is important to spend quality time building a few amazing friendships than to bother spreading out little bits here and there. It's those that will last a lifetime. Those are the best. I promise.
Always chase your dreams. Never give up. Always have love in your heart.
When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.
P.S. Trinity definitely thought she was going to school with you. She had to have her backpack just like her big brother. You two walked hand in hand through the parking lot and into school. Sissy followed right on into class, and you know what came next... The biggest fit pitched ever known to man when we had to leave you there. But you did great. You were so excited about school. You had no hesitations.
As you can see, you sat down and jumped right on into the coloring. I might even teared up at the fact that you didn't fight to keep me there :(
Mommy loves you the most. You will always be my sunshine!
